Research
My research interests lie in forest ecology and the dynamic nature of forest composition and structure in response to natural and anthropogenic disturbances, e.g. fire, climate change, deer overabundance, exotic invasives, and chemical deposition. I am interested in studying the boreal / northern hardwood forest ecotone and potential changes in species composition and productivity in response to climate change in combination with other disturbance factors.
Work History
I worked for the National Park Service in Fire Management and Natural Resource Management from 2001 through 2007.
Hometown: I grew up in southern New Hampshire and have lived in numerous other states including Michigan, Colorado, California, and Virginia. I moved to Minnesota during the summer of 2007.
Hobbies and interests: I enjoy hiking, skiing, tree climbing and many other active outdoor pursuits.
